Beach Bum was created from ten different dumpster walls transforming a photograph taken from the shores of Cambria, California into a beach full of divots left by smokers distinguishing their cigarettes. Cigarette butts make their way into our oceans when they are improperly discarded like flicking a butt out of a car window or tossing it to the ground. Easily transported by water runoff and stormwater, cigarette butts are made of non-biodegradable type of plastic and leach harmful toxic chemicals into our environment poisoning fish and other marine life.
