Beach Milk Stones was created from ten different dumpster walls transforming a photograph taken from the shores of Cambria, California into a beach of milky white stones. We toss the equivalent of 136 billion plastic milk jugs of plastic into the ocean a year. Plastic that is not rinsed completely leads to contamination of other materials in the recycling bin. Contaminated materials is part of the reason that worldwide we only recycle about 9% of our plastics.
