Watercolors
from $500.00
Watercolors was created from fourteen different dumpster walls transforming a photograph taken of the Atlantic Ocean into a sea of blue hues dotted with small white fibers. Synthetic materials represent about 60% of the fibers used for manufacturing clothes. When these garments are washed they lose tiny plastic fibers that end up in our oceans, too small to be caught by waste treatment plant filters. These tiny pieces, called microfibers, contribute to the sea of microplastics floating in our oceans, not visible to naked eye, but are responsible for approximately 35% of the plastic in the ocean.
