Whitecaps

Whitecaps
Whitecaps was created from eight different dumpster walls transforming a photograph taken of Lake Michigan into a blue body of water dotted with white caps. Plastic caps found on waterbottles and other beverages are not completely biodegradable adding to the slew of microplastics polluting our waterways. In 2016, almost 5,000 bottle caps were found on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean during a beach cleanup day. With a population of less than 60 people, it was clear that these bottle caps had traveled large distances before arriving on the island’s coastline.
